Principal
●Question about membership - should we increase membership? We will look for two more staff to join.
●First month of school has gone well with the opening. Cafe is working out well, safety and food
access. Discipline has not been a concern. Safe and focused on learning.
●Our next focus will be on classrooms: assessment, student engagement, curriculum alignment.
●Will be focused on growth of restorative justice this year. Want to focus on SEL development and
inclusivity. “Best version of ourselves”. Core group of 20 who have been trained at tier 1 and wll move
to tier 2. Another 10 staff to start tier 1. Ultimately will should be over 50% trained and will be using
circles in classrooms for building community. This will allow for us to use this philosophy to impact
how we approach discipline gong forward.
Parents
●In person “Back to School Night” was wonderful.
Staff
●We are currently dealing with a staff shortage on ILP 1 aides. In addition, trouble with staffing
substitutes has added to the challenge. Other staff have been stepping in to cover. We are trying to
avoid big group study halls when we don’t have the substitutes. Central Office is working with us to
come up with some financial solutions.
