It's very helpful. Working clockwise from the top (Rolfe Rd) of the plot plan for each tree removed I find the following: DBH Inches Replacement inches Removed (using 2x multiplier for DBH equal or greater than 24 inches*) 42 84 12 12 24 48 12 12 24 48 114 204 It appears that replacement inches (required since 2017) for the mitigation fee were not used. If my math is correct, the mitigation payment would be $20,400* (not $11,400). Do you agree? On the question of why the $10/$100 fee/mitigation rates were used, I do see that the New Construction permit was filed before the July 29th, 2021 date on which the Attorney General approved the bylaw change increasing fees. On the other hand, the Demo Permit, with which the "Tree Warden Review" is associated, was submitted on August 9, 2021. So I guess a further discussion may be in order as to which is the controlling date. Can you clarify how it was determined that the earlier date applies? Best, Gerry *If the date of submission is taken as that of the Demo Permit, the 4X multiplier would be used along with the $20/$200 rates. So I looked in OpenGov for the status and in the Tree Warden Review I saw the following: "5 trees were removed from the property totaling 114", you need to pay $300 for every tree not planted for a total of $11,400. Also you need to pay the tree fee of $10 per inch, $1,140.00" In keeping with your request to email you when questions arise (as opposed to including in a long report), here are a few of points that I hope you can clarify: What do the words "$300 for every tree not planted mean"? Under this application it is $100 per inch so a 3 inch tree not planted requires a $300 payment. Looking at the plot plan and the actual site now, I can't determine which 5 trees total 114 inches. Can you please indicate which ones they are and what side of the corner lot has been considered to be the front? The front of the property is Rolfe Road. The trees are marked on the attached plan. The $1,140 fee seems to reflect $10/inch, not the current rate of $20/inch.The permit was pulled before the new fee was in effect. The $11,400 mitigation seems to reflect $100/inch, not the current rate of $200/inch.The permit was pulled before the new fee was in effect.
