3.Quick School Safety Update In light of ti�e sc�oal shaating in U�alde,l'X,the
weeic befare, Ms. Daley ga�e an upda�e on school
safety as folfows:
-there is a school 5afety Council that meets
periodically, artd the Crisi Team was already
scheduled to meet an the Fridayfollowing Uvalde
-they are cantinually re�isiting satety protocols
-AL10E training is happening behind#he scenes;
this may�?)will (?} be integrated into prafessional
de�elopment next year because there are so many
new stafF members
- parents ha�e been asking whether we do
lackdown driEls with K-S students. We dan't,and
we probably won't-just do three fire drills each
yea r.
-We had some discussion of evacuation and rally
point plans and the pros and cons of various
locations. [The rally point site is not being named
in the minutes].
-There were some questions posed about the role
of school resource officers/police; Ms. Daley
pointed out that at this point relying on the police
is not a sustainable model; what message does it
send?
4. Site Council Membership and Elections for All of the current members confirmed that they
Next Year would like to remain on the Site Council next year.
We will need to find a new Community member to
replace Larry Freeman, who has been elected to
the School Committee.
