After moving the Police Station from 1575 Mass Ave to the Temp Station at 173
Bedford Street, public safetey (Police, Disbatch, Fire) began to experience
serious problems with the radio communications system. The root cause of the
problem is the age of the system and that it was designed work with copper
lines, which were available at the former Police Station, but not at 173 Bedford
Street. This issue would continue when moving back to the newly renovated
Police Station. To resolve this issue antenna eqipment at 9 locations needs to
be replaced with modern equipment. This transfer will be used to purchase and
install the antenna equipment.
