FUND FOR LEXINGTON BOARD

Present: Doug Lucente, Chair; Suzie Barry;Norman Cohen; Alan Fields; Ed Grant; Rev. Claire Feingold
Thoryn, Alan Wrigley; Melissa Interess, Director of Human Services; Tony Serio, Assistant Director of
Family and Youth Services; Melissa Battite, Director of Recreation and Community Programs; and Kim
Katzenback, Executive Clerk to the Select Board.
Mr. Lucente stated the remote participation meeting is being held remotely as posted with the agenda.
1) Money Available as of May 31, 2022: Principal $316,212.77
Income $17,999.34
2) Human Services Report
Ms. Interess reported the following activity for the Human Services funds dispersed for the period:
• Fund for Lexington
o $452.58 out of the Heating Assistance Pilot for one resident (Remaining balance -
$4,182.63)
• Human Services Emergency Fund (non COVID related)
o $12,294.93($10.019.00 for rent for 4 residents, $849.93 for Hotel, $1,426.00 for
Miscellaneous Overdue Bills,)
o Lexpress subsidized passes fiscal year to date - 38 passes,value of$7,640
o Gift Cards - $325 in food cards; $225 in clothing cards
• Human Services Gift Fund Assistance (non COVID related)
o $889.23 for Stove for resident
• Covid-19 Financial Assistance (Takeda and FFL Contributions)
o Disbursed $6,232.71 this period for 3 individuals/families
■ Takeda Balance: $72,906.32
■ FFL Balance: $25,000
3) Recreation Department Report
Ms. Battite, Recreation Director, updated the Board on the Recreation Scholarship Fund used to assist
children from low income families to attend Town sponsored summer programs.
4) Request for East Lexington Flower Barrels Beautification Project
Upon a motion duly made and seconded, by roll call,the Fund for Lexington Board voted 7-0 to approve
$4,650 to pay Wilson Farms for plantings of the East Lexington flower barrels for 2021 per request
submitted by Jim Shaw.
5) Next Meeting Dates
The Board reviewed and confirmed the following meeting dates for Fund for Lexington Board:
• September 12, 2022
• December 5, 2022
6) Approval of March 22, 2022 Meeting Minutes
On a motion duly made and seconded,by roll call,the Fund for Lexington Board voted 7-0 to approve the
March 22, 2022 Meeting Minutes.
