Call to order II. Secretary’s report: Marie Hewes Approved Unanimously. III. Financial update: Steve Poltorzycki ●No change from last time. ●The town account’s balance is $3,200.00 and after Jillian submits some reimbursement, it should be reduced to 0 as it closes at the end of June. IV. Discovery Day recap: Jillian Tung ●Discovery Day was canceled because of the weather even though everything was ready. V. Discussion of summer schedule ●Many committees are skipping the month of July because often members are away. We are planning to have our next meeting in August right before the start of school. Skipping July should not be a problem because the Utility Box and the Haiku projects would be done. ●Question regarding in person meetings : The board of health is very strict about following the rules. After July we need to meet in person. Ideally, it would be great to have a hybrid option but technology could be an issue. Jillian will inquire about the possibility of using conference rooms in The Community Center. ●The in-person meetings could be focused more on decisions to make the meetings more productive. Members could pre-read the updates to reduce meeting time. VI. Website and publicity updates update: Anwell Tsai, Ashley Rooney. ●The website has been updated regularly with the haiku project. ●Anwell is going to create a blog. Ashley’s content will be added on the blog as well as cultural and arts events. ●Shutting down the old website : Jillian will check how it needs to be done. ●Shalini would like to connect facebook, instagram, twitter etc and we are trying to get a phone number for the council. We could link the number to one of our phones. Steve would be happy to take the calls and link his number to the council’s number. That number can be used to text too. ●We need to fix the link connecting the town website to the old website. ●Check out the nice printed posters about the Fairy House Project. VII. Project updates ●The Utility Boxes will be completed by the end of the month. (Maple and Pleasant street) ●The Haiku project deadline for poems is midnight June 1st. There will be a jury of 3 poets and windows will be painted in the center. ●There will be some training to paint the windows. ●There will be a celebration during which poems will be read at the Depot July 12th, with music and a band. There will also be tours. One of us could lead a tour. ●There are over a 100 submissions. About 50/60 people have submitted a poem. One has been supported by the Historical Society, Munroe, … ●We still have to figure out the illustration side of the project. ●Everyone is invited to the celebration. The band might be located at Emery Park ( pending permission) or at the Depot. ●The shop owners are excited about the event! VIII. New business . ●Porch fest: ○This idea has been suggested many times: we would need to pick a neighborhood and find people to host bands. ○Could be connected to the Semiquincentennial celebration. ●One stand comedy : Project suggested by Lisa ●Note that our next meeting will be at the end of August.
