Lexington Housing Partnership
Meeting Minutes for March 16, 2006
Attendees:
Mary Haskell, Harriet Cohen, Ken Kreutziger, Tom Harden, Jeri Foutter, Chris
Eaton, Winifred McGowan
Ken Kreutziger chaired the meeting; Harriet Cohen took the minutes.
The meeting was called to order at 7:17 pm.
1. Approval of January minutes
Because there is no quorum, the vote on the minutes is postponed until the next meeting.
2. Vote on Official Positions of the Housing Partnership vis-à-vis inclusionary zoning
The Lexington Housing Partnership (the Partnership) discussed the current status of the
inclusionary status proposal. The Partnership had anticipated that the inclusionary zoning
amendment would be presented to Town Meeting by the Planning Board, but the
Planning Board has withdrawn the amendment for consideration at this Town Meeting.
The Planning Board may submit the amendment for consideration at Town Meeting in
the fall, if there is a Town Meeting. The Planning Board has recognized the need for an
education campaign if the amendment is going to pass. The Partnership discussed its role
in such a campaign and did not reach a conclusion. Mr. Harden agreed to schedule a
meeting with a member of the Planning Board, a member of the Board of Selectman, a
representative of the Partnership and himself.
3. Committee Reports
Lexington Housing Foundation
There have been credits and debits since the previous meeting. There is currently
approximately $6,000 in the Foundation account. Much of that money is committed to
payment for Phil Herr for his work on the inclusionary zoning amendment.
LHP Web Site
A student at the MinuteMan Tech is developing the website. He expects to post a version
of the web site in the near future. It will posted at a location the will allow for private
review for the Partnership prior to its general availability.
CPA
The members present recognized Betsey Weiss for her role in spearheading the CPA
campaign. Ms. Weiss reported that the Community Preservation Committee (CPC) has
begun meeting. The CPC is the body that makes recommendation to Town Meeting for
the use of CPA funds. There will be a public hearing on potential fund uses and then
proposals will be accepted by the CPC during the summers.
4. Next meeting
The next meeting is Thursday, May 18, 2006.
The meeting adjourned at 9:02 pm.
