LEXINGTON HOUSING ASSISTANCE BO I, INC
4 MILITIA DRIVE, SUITE 3
LEXINGTON, MASSACHUSETTS 02421
(781) 863-5362
Minutes for September 5, 2007
Present: William Hays, Donald Wilson, David Eagle, and Gerald Howell
The Board met at 14 Woodland Road to view the house. The rugs have
been removed from the livingroom, diningroom, and hall and new flooring
has been installed by the parents.
Lauren McSweeney met with the Board at the office to discuss the Fund
for Lexington. The Social Services Department does the intake. If approved,
it takes two weeks to get a signed check for $1000 or more. A check for less
can be written sooner. She also discussed the Human Services Fund and Friends
of the Council of Aging.
LexHAB wants our fund to function outside our group, and to be able to
act quickly. It was suggested that the intake be through the Social Services
Department. Guidelines for proof of need must be established. Lauren agreed
to be on the Committee.
Bob Bicknell, from the Lexington Housing Partnership, came before the
Board to discuss the use of CPAfunds to reduce the sale of an affordable
house to first time buyers. It would be kept affordable through the deed.
The July minutes were approved as read.
The Board discussed buying three units at Parker Manor. The Board
voted unanimously to authorize Bill Hays to execute all documents necessary
for the purchase of Units 4,7,and 107 at Parker Manor. They also voted
unanimously to authorize Bill Hays to execute all documents in connection
with the purchase of mortgages from Patriot Community Bank.
John Biggins is obtaining quotes for Dave for the drainage work necessary
in the basement at 336/338 Bedford Street.
The next meeting will be held on October 16 at 7:30 p.m.
Respectfully submitted,
Joan M. Wall
