wrote in and asked that the 1941 Statutory Exemption Application that
she filed be withdrawn.
Her request accepted and no exemption granted on her 1941 tax bill.
Board was informed that Mrs. Grace H. G. Belcher of 97 Adams Street
. wrote in and. asked that the 1941 Statutory Exemption Application. that

Board voted to abate the 1940 and; 19.41 real estate taxes billed to
the heirs of Charles E. Wheeler. Mr.: Wheeler was a Spanish War Veterans
and Lillian Wheeler his widow applied for the exemption of the taxes.
Abatements granted under Chap.. 59, Sec. 5. Clause 23, G. L.
Letter. from Edith, W. Willard of 66 North Street was read and the
Assessors voted to make the assessment on 2.51 acre parcel $375 instead
of $500.
Miss Willard' s large tract of land is assessed at 0150 per acre and
this additional small parcel that Miss Willard purchased from the Locke
Estate in 1940 . she wished also to have assessed at $150 per acre.
The personal tax of $2.04 billed t..oAdolph S. Kroll of 51 Wellington
ALane Avenue: was abated by the Board-because this man did not own the cow
on January lst, that was assessed to him.
The personal tax of $2.04 billed to Rudolph Reinap of 95 Spring Street
was abated by the Board because this man did not own the cow on January
1st, that was assessed to him.
The Board examined the Statutory Exemption Application received from
Georgia E. Underwood of 8 Manning Street and they voted to grant her an
abatement of $31. 40 on her 1941 real estate tax. This abatement was
granted under Clause 18, pec. 5, Chapter 59, General Laws.
Miss Underwood is now receiving Old Age Assistance.
So Miss Underwood could receive O..A.K. it was understood that her
real estate assessment should not. be over $5000. On January 1st, 1941
her real estate assessment was $5250 so the Assessors at this meeting
voted to reduce the 1941 assessment $250, thus granting her an abatement
of $7.85 on her. 1941 tax bill.
The Board examined the Statutory Exemption Application received from
Ellis Lee of 67 Ward Street and they voted to abate the whole of his 1941
real estate . tax bill.
This abatement was granted under Clause 18. Amount of tax abated being
$75.36.
The Board voted to abate the 1941 Personal Tax of 15.70 billed to
Clarrie Mulliken of 209 Waltham Street.
The Board voted to abate the 1941 Persoanl Tax of $31. 40 billed to
Ethel M. Eldridge formerly of 23 Eliot Road.

Letter and 1941 Statutory Exemption Application received from
Mrs. Helen G. Potter of 32 Locust Avenue were .;.read and examined but
because of Mrs. Potter's equity she was not entitled to exemption
under Clause -17.
Letter was sent to Mrs. ' Potter informing her of the decision of
the Board on her application.
Letter from Mrs. Josephine F. Baker of 7 Hunt Road was read but
because Mrs. Baker did not filefor abatements on her 1941 taxes
on or before-Oct. 1st, theassessors could not grant her any abate-
ments for 1941.
Letter was sent to Mrs. Baker telling her to file on her personal
property during January 1942.
Letter dated Sept. 27th from Mrs. Helen C. Morgan was read but as
no 1941 state approved abatement application was received i* the Board
could take no action on her request for a reduction on the 1941 assess-
ment.
Letter dated Oct. 4th from Daniel/J. O' Connell was read but as no
1941 state approved abatement application was received so the Board

His letter was acknowledged and he was instructed to write in as
soon as convenient and ask for a re-assessment of the filling station
property for 1942.
Because of some agreement between Joseph Grace owner: of some land
on Grant Street and the Town of Lexington the Selectmen authorized the
Assessors to make thefollowing two interest abatements on Committed
Apportioned Water Assessment Interest. .
