Messes Steeves, Emery, Shanahan and Spencer went out all day and 3ooked at parcels of real estate which they had rec .ved 1941 abatement .applic2tions on, and also in regard to placing 142 assessments on build-. ,;ings completed since last Jan. 1st, 1941. r N0L MEETING, OCT. 17, 1941 Messrs Steeves, Emery, Cann and Spencer were present. A Warrant for Water Liens amounting to $84.71 was signed by the three members of the Board present. Commitment of Unapportioned Nater Assessments amounting to $6477.'72 was signed by the Assessors present. Commitment of Unapportioned Sewer Assessments amounting to $4148.96 was signed by the three members. Monthly lists of Excise Abatements were signed by the Assessors. Letter received from the Office of the Selectmen authorizing the Assessors if they so wished to abate the apportioned 1941 sewer assess- ment and committed interest billed to M1ss Mary E. Reardon of 22 Vine Street . Miss Reardon is receiving Old Age Assistance so the Board voted to abate the two amounts, namely $18.00 and $7.56. Effie L. Briggs paid the balance due on her apportioned Water Assess- ment on June 7th and as the betterment interest had been figured to Oct. 1st, a 300' adjustment was made on her 1941 tax bill; so the Assessors at this meeting signed the abatement slips for the 300' deducted from her tax bill. The 1941 Veterans ' Exemptions State Form to be signed and returned to the Commissioner of Corporations and Taxation was signed by the three members. One department bill was approved and signed for payment. Letter dated Aug. 28, 1941 from Tax Collector Scamman asking for the abatement of two 1939 real estate taxes and one 1940 tax was read and the Assessors voted to abate the three taxes and they s igned the abate- ment slips. Stickney et al Trs. 18.84 Assessed for two small buildings and land that were deeded to others. Harlan R. Allard 109.90 Assessed for a completed house. Only the foundation was in as of Jan. 1, 1941.
