Abatement slips for the abatement of 25 uncollected 1941 poll taxes were signed by the Assessors. Commitment of Unapportioned Water Assessments on Blake Road, Patriots ' Drive, Paul Revere" Road and Simonds Road was signed by the three members. Amount of the Commitment being for $1715.39. '.i i . Soon after Mr. Henry P. Clark of 618 Mass. Avenue received his 1939 real estate tax bill he came into the office to ask Mr. Spencer if he thought the Assessors would abate part . of his $19.88 tax bill. Mr. Spencer said he would ask the Assessors to abate $7.10 under F'. Clause 18. Mr. Clark paid part of the bill believing that the abatement would be put tbru. . Thru some oversight the abatement request was not called to the attention of the Board and as Mr. Scamman had made no notation on his book he advertised recently in the Minute Man for the balance of Mr. Clark's unpaid 1939 tax bill. Mr. - Clark was up-set and disturbed on reading about his property `' :being advertised, so he" came in and talked with Mr. Spencer about the 't matter. - * At this meeting Mr. Spencer gave the facts to the Board and they k, voted to abate the 87.10 item and signed the abatement slips.
