Mr. James Russell, Town Accountant, worked on the 1941 figures to be used infixing the 1941 tax rate. Rate arrived at being 431.40. Department bills approved and signed for payment. The Board of Selectmen having given their authorization to the Assessors the Board voted to abate the unapportioned Water Assessmen6. billed to Elizabeth; M. Burton on Colony Road amounting to $270.00. The Assessors signed the abatement slips at this meeting. Lists of Excise abatements were signed by the Board. The Assessors abated certain 1940 unpaid poll taxes and signed thi abatement slips. Amount ab ted being for $40.00. The reasons for the abatement of most of these taxes were because the individuals were 70 years of age or older. Johanson owner of the Cutler Farm on Concord Avenue, and it was suggested that Miss Johanson be granted a hearing at the next meeting of the Board. % 1 ,
