Claire Feingold Thoryn, Alan Wrigley; Melissa Interess, Director of Human Services; Tony Serio, Assistant Director of Family and Youth Services; Melissa Battite, Director of Recreation and Community Programs; and Kim Katzenback, Executive Clerk to the Select Board. Mr. Lucerne stated the remote participation meeting is being held remotely as posted with the agenda. 1) Money Available as of August 31, 2021: Principal $324,477.26 Income $38,062.91 2) Human Services Report Ms. Interess reported the following activity for the Human Services funds dispersed for the period: • Fund for Lexington o $1,260.72 out of the Heating Assistance Pilot for four residents (Remaining balance - $4,635.21) • Human Services Emergency Fund(non COVID related) o $5,671.59(2,199 for rent, $338 for hotel, $2,334.59 for miscellaneous overdue bills, $800 for grocery gift cards) o Lexpress subsidized passes fiscal year to date - 38 passes, value of$7,640 o Gift Cards - $1650 in food cards, $150 in clothing cards • Covid-19 Financial Assistance (Takeda and FFL Contributions) o Disbursed$12,953.64 from Human Services Emergency Fund for individuals/families ■ Takeda Balance: $81,622.22 ■ FFL Balance: $25,000 The Fund for Lexington Board also discussed the $25,000 Fund for Lexington provided in April 2020 to the Human Services Emergency for COVID-19 assistance. Upon a motion duly made and seconded, by roll call, the Fund for Lexington Board voted 7-0 to approve $10,000 be given to the Human Services Emergency Fund; and further to confirm the $25,000 deposited into Human Services Emergency Fund in April 2020 should continue to be allocated for COVID-19 assistance through the Human Services Emergency Fund. 3) Recreation Department Report and Request for Funds to be used for Recreation Scholarship and Tent Rental Ms. Battite, Recreation Director, updated the Board on the Recreation Scholarship Fund used to assist children from low income families to attend Town sponsored summer programs. Upon a motion duly made and seconded, by roll call, the Fund for Lexington Board voted 7-0 to approve $13,126.75 to the recreation department to provide scholarship monies for recreation programming. 4) Other • Ratify December 2, 2021 Human Services Request Upon a motion duly made and seconded, by roll call, the Fund for Lexington Board voted 6-0, 1 abstention(Rev. Feingold Thoryn) to ratify the approval of the December 2, 2021 Human Services request for $3000 for the Holiday Gift Program for families in need. 5) Next Meeting Dates The Board reviewed and confirmed the following meeting dates for Fund for Lexington Board: • June 13, 2022 • September 12, 2022 • December 12, 2022 6) Approval of September 13, 2021 Meeting Minutes On a motion duly made and seconded,by roll call, the Fund for Lexington Board voted 6-0, 1 abstention (Rev. Feingold Thoryn) to approve the September 13, 2021 meeting minutes.
