The Board of Assessors and the Board of Registrars' meet and talked X
over the matter of appointing their assistants to list the polls, dogs,,'`
and all persons 20. years of age or older, also the number of boys 18
and 19 years of age.
The following men were appointed as Assistant Assessors and Assist-'F+
ant Registrars :

The Board having examined the applications Tiled by the following
persons and having viewed the properties voted at this meeting that no
reductions be made on the 1939 assessments because the Board did not
feel that the parcels were over assessed.

The above parties were notified of the decision of the Board on
their applications. Approved Form 10 -- Notice of Refusal to Abate Pro- 3
perty Tax was sent to the above named persons, except the one marked
-,and that notice was sent to Mr". James C. Donahue, Trust Officer, 'c/o
Webster and Atlas National Bank of Boston, et ale, Trs. u/w. George 0.
Whiting. Mr. Nathan B. Bidwell of 25 Adams 'Street was also notified as >4
to what the Assessors did on all the applications filed by Mr. Donahue
for the Gilmore family.
The Board voted to grant Mr. s. Annie Bierenbroodspot of 14 Ridge Road
an abatement of 425.00 under Clause 18. This party filed the . abatement
application but the Board did not feel thather property was over asseso;,
ed and therefore voted to give her some help under Clause 18, Section 5;
General Laws.
Commissioner Henry F. Long 's authority to the Assessors to abate cer
taro 1937 uncollected personal taxes was received so the Board signed th
abatement slips. List submitted by the Tax Collector having been reeeiv
examined and the Board voted to abate the taxes amounting to $87.79,
The following persons having filed applications on their 1939 real
estate and the Board having viewed the parcels voted at this meeting to
grant the following abatements and the abatement slips were signed by
Mr. Spender, Secretary of the Board.
