Chair Paul O'Shaughnessy called the March 03, 2022 Historic Districts Commission meeting to order at
5:01pm.
FORMAL HEARING
Chair Paul O'Shaughnessy opened the formai hearing for 30 Waltham Street, exterior changes (Signage) in
the Battle Green Historic District

The board agreed the proposed signage were appropriate. Some board members felt the signage were hard to read,
and the size of signage were too large.
Lester Savage as public attendee stated he likes the design and supports it.

The applicant explained the proposed changes of signage.
Some board members felt that the color,heavy,and placement of signage were not appropriate,and size of proposed
signs were too large and also not appropriate. They agreed that there was not a strong integration between the logo
and panel text. Paul O'Shaughnessy will serve as liaison with this application to see if it is appropriate. This
application will continue to next meeting in April.

The applicant explained the proposed demolition plans of Hosmer House.
The board were unsatisfied with the proposed demolition of Hosmer House. They agreed the proposed demolition
of Hosmer House were inappropriate.

Matthew Thenen and Dawn McKenna as public stated they supported Board's opposition to demolition of Hosmer
House.
Anne Eccles made a motion to accept the proposed demolition plans of Hosmer House. Paul
O'Shaughnessy seconded. Roll Call Vote: Lee Noel Chase — No, Dan Hisel — No, Robin Lovett — No,
Paul O'Shaughnessy—No,Edward Adelman—No,Anne Eccles—No,Mark Connor—No. The Board will
not submit and provide a certificate of authenticity for the demolition of the Hosmer House. Motion
carried. All in favor.

The applicants explained the proposed changes of solar panels at 45 Bedford Street.
The Board agreed that the proposed plans of flat roof solar panels will be invisible from the public way, so it will
be proceeded without HDC's jurisdiction. Some board members were unsatisfied with the design of front sloping
roof solar panels.The board agreed that this application will continue to next meeting in April.Dan Hisel will serve
as liaison with this application to see if it is appropriate.

Some board members were unsatisfied with the solar panel placement,site plan,tower/antenna,and design elements
in the rear. They agreed this application will continue to next meeting in April with more architectural information.
Robert Adams was served as liaison with this application to see if it is appropriate.

The applicants explained the proposed changes of Structure Rehabilitation&Exterior improvements.
Some board members were unsatisfied with the proposed changes of shutters and windows, but they agreed the
substantial portion of what was being presented was appropriate.
Paul O'Shaughnessy, Chair of HDC, made a motion to approve the drawings as is showing, but
there is a follow on with regards to drawing of shutters. This application should come back within
four months and get approval whatever detail is been discovered. Edward Adelman Seconded. Roll

The applicant explained the proposed changes of the demolition of the existing dwelling at 443 Massachusetts
Avenue and the construction of a new two-family ground-up residence house.
Some Board members felt these proposed plans were appropriate. The Board agreed this application goes through
a formal HDC hearing in April with more options. Some Board commissioners will have a site visit of this
application to see if it is appropriate. Robert Adams was assigned as liaison with this application to see if it is
appropriate.
Mr. and Mrs. Reed, Linda Henning, and Barbara Elia as public all stated their opposition to the tear down.

ACTION ITEMS
Consideration and vote on Meeting Minutes on February 3rd, 2022: The Board made a motion to approve
the minutes on February 3rd,2022 as edited.Motion carried.All in favor.
Dan Hisel, Edward Adelman, and Robert Adams had a site visit on LexSeeHer Monument two weeks ago. They
felt excited about a better resolution for the orientation of the monument.
Dawn McKenna as public concerned her opposition to the process that was followed for LexSeeHer.
Chair Paul O'Shaughnessy made a motion to adjourn at 10:18pm. Motion carried. All in favor.
