Chair Paul O'Shaughnessy called the April 07,2022 Historic Districts Commission meeting to order at 5:02
pm.
FORMAL HEARING
Chair Paul O'Shaughnessy opened the formai hearing for 1557 Massachusetts Avenue, exterior changes in
the Battle Green Historic District

The applicant explained the updated proposed changes of 1557 Massachusetts Avenue.
The board felt this temporary relocation of Hosmer House were appropriate. The Board agreed put a condition on
this application permission, that it should come back within one year with regards to a permanent solution for
Hosmer House.
No Public Comments.
Motion was granted and seconded to issue a Certificate of Appropriateness for exterior changes to 1557
Massachusetts Avenue of temporary relocation.Motion carried,all in favor.

The applicant explained the proposed changes to 443 Massachusetts Avenue.
The Board agreed that application will continue to next meeting. Robert Adams will continue to serve as liaison
with this application to see if it is appropriate. This application will continue to next meeting in May.
Linda Henning, Andrew Gubisch, and Barbara Elia as public attendees stated their opposition to proposed
demolition of 443 Massachusetts Avenue.

The board agreed the updated proposed changes were mostly appropriate.It was stated that looking at brick on site,
a slightly higher fence, no divided lights as kept it originally, roofing, and a mockup with facade details were
required for further follow-up review.
