• The MLK 2022 Cards of Appreciation made by Lexington Volunteers are being shared
with Healthcare Workers at Lawrence Hospital, Veterans, and Essential Workers in
Lexington. We have been so lucky to have the cards on display at the Community Center
this month before they travel to Cary Library and then into the hands of Essential
Workers. Over 200 people participated to make over 1000 cards. They are a beautiful
and creative display of gratitude.
• The Windowpane shop has been closed because of COVID for the last two years and it
has been decided that it will not reopen. The volunteers have put so much time and
energy into running the shop over the past many years and have ultimately decided that
they are not in a position to continue their work. There is not enough volunteer support
in other areas to pick up management of the shop so will be looking at ideas for how to
use that space to best serve the community in the future. If you have ideas please feel
free to share them.
