The r. eti n ; vas opened in the office of the
Superintendent of Public Thrks at 8 :00 P.M. , by Chairman
Lemi s L. Poyt, with the following members in attendance :

The purpise of t1-:" s meeting is to see - with the
changes made in the 'Budgets last night - What the approximate
tax rate will be. The Secretary stated that according to
the fiures a t32.00 tax rate could be had.
Chairman T'o:rt had an article t-'ri tten relative to
the changes which 1rere made at the ,Dint meeti_n~; with the
FWiectmen last evening, and a general discussion was had
relative to the merits of i nserti n same in the introduction
of the Appropriation Committee Resort. It vas finally decided
that this insertion be eliminated, and the item of predicting
the tax rate be included in the Preamble.
George Hynes had obtained the information relative
to the Personnel of the Police Department from Chief Rycroft
and it was recommended that the information be included in
the minutes of this -meeting for future reference.

r. Trovt also suggested that as there was a leeway
in the 32.00 tax rate , re could reduce the $50,000.00 re-
ouested for a transfer from. the Excess and 'Deficiency Account
to $40,000.00. This was reconsidered and it was voted that
a transfer of ;'40,000.00 be made from the Excess and -Deficiency
Account towards the reduction of the Tax Rate.
The Secretary was instructed to notify the Select-
ren as to this chan re.
