Minutes of the Meeting Feld February 12, 1945.
It was regularly moved and voted to dispense
with the reading of the minutes of the regular meeting
held February 12, 1945.
Messrs. Donald Nickerson and George Emery,
members of the Committee appointed for the New Fire
Stations were admitted to this meeting. Mr. Nickerson
stated that the $3,000.00 - a part of the money ap-
propriated for the main fire station - and 11,200.00
for the Fast Lexington Fire Station would go to
respective architects ; *250.00 to the Estate of Yr.
Robinson, and '''50O.00 to Andrews, Jones, Plscoe Rr
roodell. Yr. Nickerson stated that they intended to have
nrospecti ve drawings of both stations to bring to the
coming Torn Meeting.
Mr. Lewis L. Tioyt asked .Mr. Nickerson whether
their Committee intende' to make any recommendation on
-2- -
the fire station at the Town Meeting. Mr. Nickerson said
that it was not a function of his Committee, and he
believed such recommendations should be made by the
Selectmen or the Board of Fire Engineers.
- Yr. Nickerson left this meeting at 8,05 P.7.
Mr. Finery, representing the Board of Fire Engineers,
remained at this meeting. 7r. Emery said that there
seemed to be some question with regards to the amount
requested for Privates in the Budget. He stated that
his Board had submitted the new salary schedule to the
Board of Selectmen which he understood had been approved.
The old rates were ";4. 50 the first year, 55.00 for the
second year, and 15.50 for the third year, and ' 6.00 for
the fourth year. Pis Board feels that two years is long
enough for a Private to reach the maximum, so the new
salary schedule submitted is 15.50 for the first year,
16.25 for the second, and : 7.00 for the beginning of the
third year. Also the differential between the Officers
and the Privates is to be increased.
Mr. Emery stated. the, entire Fire Department
Personal Services Budget, except the amount for the Privates,
was correct. The amount requested for Privates would amount
to 122,997.25 which would. make a net difference in the
Budget as approved of 1698.78. Mr. uoyt suggested that
Mr. Emery see the Board of Selectmen and find out whether
they understood this change, and if they approved the
Budget as revised to notify this Committee tonight.

that Miss Crosby's title be changed from Junior Clerk and
Stenographer to e temporary Senior Clear, whereby an

Miss Crosby was a Junior Clerk, this Committee could not

s mosau .to control. He stated it was hard for his Board
at this time to submit an amount for the year 1945. He
also said that this project was not a one year project, but
would be continued, and as near as they can determine, it
would cost the Torn of T,exi n` ton at least ;$3,000.00 a year.
