It was regularly moved and voted to dispense with. the reading of the minutes of the regular meeting held February 9, 1945. se; ***t The following Budgets were reconsidered and ap- proved: Accounting Department - Personal Services - Total Approved 1 , . Th; s Budget was approved on January 15, 1945 for 1;5,966.08. A motion was made, seconded and voted to rescind the previous vote and reconsider this Budget. The Torn Accountant' s salary was figured in- correctly. The amount sh,,uld be n3�350.O0 instead of 3,450.00. A motion was made, seconded and voted to approve this Budget in the amount of $5,866.08.866.08. -2- �- Assessors ' Department - Personal Services - Total Approved t'77177:73:— This Budget vas approved on Febrl ary 9, 1945 for 16,967.13. A motion was made, seconded and voted to rescind the Previous vote and reconsider this Budget. The salary of the Secretary was changed from t3,000.00 to 13,112.50. The Assistant Assessors ' figure was changed from 1200.00 to 1300.00, making the revised Budget ',7, 179.63. A motion was made, seconded and voted to approve this Budget In the amount of $7, 179.63. Assessors ' Department - Expenses - Total Approved '535.00. This Budget was approved on February 9, 1945 for ` 485.00. A motion was made, seconded and voted to rescind the Previous vote and reconsider this Budget. The Auto Allowance was changed from 1100.00 to 150.00. A motion was made, seconded and voted to approve this Budget i.n the amount of 1535.00. Public 7orks - Supt' s. Office - Personal Services - Tot al Approved ,5, 876.31. `�— This Budget was approved on January 15, 1945 for 15,576.91. A motion was made, seconded and voted to rescind the previous vote and reconsider this Budget. r The salary of the Superintendent was changed from 14,300.00 to 14, 600.00. A motion was made, seconded and voted to approve this Budget in the amount of 15,876.91. 876.91. Police Department - Personal Services - Total Approved 168,73.37137---- This 38,733';'13';--This Budget was approved on January 15, 1945 for X38, 120.84. A motion was made, seconded and voted to rescind the previous vote and reconsider this Budget. The salary of the Chief was changed from ;43,300.00 to :3,375.00. The salary of the Sergeant was changed from !'2,353.00 to *2,641.25. The salary of the Patrolmen was changed from X29,261.46 to 129, 549.54. The salary of the -3- 1./ 17 T4s Lieu tenant was changed from 12,792.00 to 12,817.34. A motion was made, seconded and voted to approve this Budget in the amount of S38, 533.13. Fire Department - Personal Services - Total Approved x'43,26.58. ThAs Budget was approved on January 15, 1945 for 142,258.68. A motion was made, seconded and vote-?. to rescind the previous vote and reconsider this Budget. The salary of the Deputy Chief was changed from 3,250.00 to : 3,287.50. The salary of the Captains was changed "rom 110, 636.30 to S11,269.36. The salary of the raster re chani c was changed from S2,548.11 to S2, 641.25. The' salary of the Privates was changed from 122,024.27 to 122,298.47. 298.47. A motion was made, seconded and voted to approve this Budget in the amount of $43,296.58. Insect Suppression - Personal Services - Total Approved 142)8.75. This Budget was approved on January 15, 1945 for '1334.75. A motion was made, seconded and voted to rescind the prey' ous vote and reconsider this Budget. The salary of the Superintendent was changed from 1334.75 to `408.75. A motion 77as m^de, seconded and voted to approve t'-1 s Budget in the amount of 1408.75. Health Department - Expenses - Total Approved 16,000.00. This Budget was reconsidered and the figure approved on January 2, 1245 of 36,000.00 still remains the same. Public '"'Alf: re - Personal Services A special note to be Included under these 17udgets in the Appropriation Committee Report - such as - the 15c1, salary increase is temporary and for the period ending December 31, 1945. A motion was made, seconded and voted that the Bonus be amended so that the 15' Bonus for the Public Welfare employees will be on a temporary basis for the year 1945. -4- Town Physician A sloe& al note to be placed under this Article stating that the Town Physician's salary is for three months only ending parch 31, 1945. Cary Library - Personal Services - Total Approved ':;12,905.13. This Budget was approved on February 9, 1945 for !712,750.04. A motion was made, seconded and voted to rescind the previous vote and reconsider this Budget. The Librarian' s salary should be : 2,535.00 Assistants ' salaries are as follows : Assistant Librarian 1,740.00 Senior Assistant 1,620.00 Cataloger 1,485.00 Branch Librarian 1,215 .00 R1.l5 tary Substitute 1,141.96 7,201.96 Janitors ' Salaries 2,418.17 Substitutes 700.00 Substitute Janitors 50.00 12,905.13 Om. ____ -5- _ 1 ` Chairman Lewis T,. Toyt had a general discussion t� on the rev set-up of the Appropriation Committee Report stating that the "Request Column" was being eliminated. The Report is being prepared by the Secretary and was shown to each member. The entire Committee ap- proved such a chane in the Report. Another item which RRr. T-Toyt took up was whether the comments under each article with regards to' regular step-rate increases be omitted. It it"as decided that they be eliminated, and included in the preamble of the Appropriation Committee Report. Chairman uoyt then took up the different 9 terns which he had written for the preamble of the Report. The remainder of the evening, except for a short time, was spent discussing this and making slight changes on some of the paragraphs. Frrol Tr. Locke, Chairman of the Board of Select- men, appeared at thi.s meeting relative to a request for an increase for the Senior Clerk in the Town Accountant's office. He stated that the Board approved such an increase under one condition - that a like increase be given to rvTi.ss Doherty, Clerk, in the Selectmen' s office. This Committee did not vote on the increase at this meeting, and left the matter open until the next meeting. The me=ting adjourned at 11 .00 p. '. Respectfully submitted, C4,1 Secretary.
