ASSOCIATI `N OF TO'R'N FINANCE COMMITTEES
December 13, 1944.
A meeting of the Association of Town Finance
Committees was held at the Hotel Sheraton, Bay State Road,
Boston, Massachusetts, on Wednesday evening, December 13,
1944 at 6;00 P.M.
The following Appropriation Committee members
were present: -
Lewis L. Hoyt George M. Hynes
Raymond L. p bite
Danforth Comins, the Executive Secretary, stated
at the beginning of the meeting that the next meeting of
the Association will be held Thursday evening, January 25,
1945; he hope'. that each member would make note of this and
plan to be present. Mr. Comins further stated that each
Town representative should be sure to mail 100 extra copies
of the Appropriation Comm' ttee RePort direct to him as he
Intends to assort the different towns and send a complete
set to each To member of the Association.
The first speaker of the evening was Danforth
Com:i_ns, Executive Secretary, and his subject was to
standardize budgets so that the information would be of
service to all the towns. He also submitted a sample
budget for the guidance of the members in preparing their
reports.
mr. George walker was present and he was one of
the men who won recognition at the Metropolitan Contest.
Mr. ramble of Harvard was also at the meeting, and he with
Mr. walker and others were the ones who submitted the
excellent plan of ways and means of improving Boston.
George Searles, Division of Accounts, was the
next speaker and his subject was the School Department. He
plans to send to each member a copy of his speech, so the
details have been eliminated from this record.
