October 4, 1944.
The Fall meeting of the Association of Town Finance
Committees was held at the Hotel Sheraton, ' Bay State Road,
?3oston, Massachusetts on 'f'ednesday even, ng, October 4, 1944
at 6 :00 P.M.
The following Appropriation Committee members were
present:
Harvey Winlock Ronald D. Brown
Thacher Jenney Raymond T . T rhite
Dinner vas served at 6 :30 P.M.
Mr. Morgan, President of the Association, called
the meeting to order at 7 :15 P.M.
The first speaker of the evening was Danforth W.
Comins, Executive Secretary who spoke on the various reports
of the Appropriation Committees. His supgestions were helpfuls-
one was to abandon the Request column; another was to show
the average of the preceding three years.
Mr. George Searles was the next speaker. He dis-
cussed a bill Mr. Henry gong was going to introduce in the
Nouse of Representatives which Is to set aside 1/20 of 1%
of the Assessed. Valuation in any one year as a Fund.
After this there was a general discussion, and
the meeting was adjourned at 9:30 P.m.
