Chairman Lewis L. Hoyt read a letter fseceived from the
Board of Selectmen in regards to the Salary Survey and Report,
suggesting that this Committee study and make recommendations as

Chairman Hoyt said that George W. Saran, a member of
the Library Trustees, has asked that $150.00 be transferred from
the Reserve Fund to Gary Memorial Library - Expense Account for
the purchase of coal for the year 1944. Because of the shortage
of coal, the Library Trustees would like to put the coal in for
the year of 1944. If the transfer is granted, such sum is to be
ear-marked for the purchase of coal for the year 1944. A motion
was made, seconded and voted to transfer 0150.00 from the Reserve

was a general discussion by this Committee but no action was taken.
Chairman Hoyt stated that Messrs. A. Edward Rowse,
George C. Sheldon, Lewis L. Hoyt and Harvey F. Winlock meet in
regards to certain salaries of office employees in the Public
