The Appropriation ,Committee met on Monday evening, November 2, 1964 in the
office of the Town Accountant.

Logan Clarke telephoned that he could not be present.
n • Our chairman read letter received from the Board of Selectmen in which
` John J. Carroll, Superintendent of Public Works had advised them that addit-
Tonal funds will be needed for the Water Services account and it was voted to
request the Appropriation Committee to transfer $1,000.00 from the Reserve
Fund to the Water Service account. John J. Carroll entered our meeting and
he was asked why he needed $1,000.00 more for the water services account. His
answer was that he needed the $1,000.00 to take care of water services request
ed.
Our chairman read letter received from the Board of Selectmen in which the
Board of Fire Commissioners had advised them that additional funds will be
needed for the Ambulance account. It was voted by the Board.of Selectmen to
request the Appropriation. Committee to transfer $200.00 from the Reserve Fund
to the Ambulance Account.
The Town Facilities Committee entered our meeting at 8:00 P. M. Present
were Ruth Morey, Leslie H. York, and Philip B. Parsons; They stated the
following estimated cost for maintenance of the proposed building, which is as
follows:
Heating -R'400.00; Electricity $300.00 and Janitor Service $1,750.00.
Totalestimated cost for the year to be approximately 44,875.00.
Information Booth. From May 1st through October 1, 1965. Sunday from 1 :07
_to 5: 00 P. M. and week days from 1 O'Clock to 5:00 P. M. Two persons at booth
on Sunday, Chamber of Commerce has taken the total tag of $4,875.00 mentioned
above,
The revised estimate of cost for building will be under $40,000.00.
Mrs. Ruth Morey asked this committee to go ahead with the ideas proposed .
to operate the building will be approximately $2,600.00 annually. Committee
'left our meeting at 8: 15 P. M.
Article 8. Facilities and information Building would require permission
from the General Court to build on this property.
Article 9. Final plans, specifications and obtain bids. Request $2,000.00
appropriation for drawings, specifications and final plans.
Donald Noyes spoke about renting portions of proposed building and by so
doing could get sufficient money to pay the total cost for maintenance on
building.

A vote was taken at this meeting to find out who were in favor of the
proposed building and who were against it. The vote was: 3 members in favor
and L. members opposed.
The chairman asked for vote on transfer of $1,000.00 from the Reserve
Fund to the Water Services account. All members present voted in favor of
the $1,000.00 transfer.
The chairman asked for vote on transfer of $200.00 from the Reserve Fund
for the Ambulance account. This Committee requests additional information
from the Commissioner before any action will be taken.
Articles for Special Town Meeting of November 23, 1964 are as follows:
Articles 2 and 3 are for land for parks, playgrounds and recreational
purposes. Conservation Funds. Total land is approximately 22 acres.
Four acres in Article 2 and eighteen a crus in Article 3. -The Townnow
own the 18 acres mentioned in Article 3. Opinion on these two parcels
has been gone over with Donald Legro, Town Counsel and two members of the
Commission. Suggest paying for same from the Conservation Fund.

16. By law article- Publish and distribute by mail to each dwelling
house etc.
17. Amend Zoning by - Laws.
18. To. Vote to name new public ways and to change the names of
existing ways. -
19. Appropriate a sum of money for payment of medical expenses
incurred by members of the Police and Fire Department.
20-21 8,22. Vote to amend Zoning by-laws.
Note: Our available fund or "Free Cash as of November 3, 1964 is $215,945.49.
