The Appropriation Committee met Monday evening, September 9th at 7:30
P. M. in the office of the Town Accountant.
Present: Donald R. Noyes, Chairman
Logan Clarke, Jr. J. Harper Blaisdell
John R. Bevan Frank T. Parrish, Jr.
Robert H. Kingston Oscar R. Carlson
Ralph B. Fifield, Jr. Raymond L. White Secretary
The first item to come before this meeting was the present balance in
our Reserve Fund as the Chairman has received several requests for transfers.
The balance in the Reserve Fund as of this date is $2$,69$.69.
A copy of a letter sent to the Board of Selectmen was read request'ng
the sum of $14,3$3.10 be transferred from the Reserve Fund to Payment of
° Debt—Interest account. No action was taken on this request at this meeting.
A letter from theBoard of Selectmen was read requesting a transfer of
$7,000.00 from the Reserve Fund to Library account due to shortage in
Library budget of $7,000.00. No action taken.
A letter from the Board of Selectmen requesting a transfer of $750.00
from the Reserve Fund to Park Department, Wages and Expenses account to
defray part of the cost to repair the flag pole on the Common. A motion
was made, seconded and voted to transfer the sum of $750.00 from the
Reserve fund to Park Department, Wages and Expenses account.
A letter from the Board of Assessors requesting the sum of $1,000.00
from the Reserve Fund to Assessors' 8epartment, Personal Services account.
- It was voted by this Committee to invite the Board of Assessors to our
next meeting to be held September 23rd at 7:30 P. M. in regards to their
request.
Donald Noyes, Chairman, stated that the By—law Committee is having a
meeting on September 19th at $:15 P. M. in the Selectmen's room and have
invited our Committee. The Chairman requests that postal cards be sent
out to our members asking them to attend.
The Chairman spoke in regards to having certain members of our Committee
handle portions of the annual budgets, such as:
General Government — Oscar R. Carlson
Protection of Persons and Property — Frank T. Parrish Jr.
Public Services — J. Harper Blaisdell
Cemeteries — Frank T. Parrish Jr.
Maturing Debt and Interest — John R. Bevan
The meeting adjourned at 9:30 P. M.
