Transportation Advocacy: Senior-only parking at Community Center Sudhir Jain updated the discussion with Christine Dean. It is possible to have 8-10 senior-only parking spaces at the upper level in the front of the community center; any proposal will need the Select Board to approve. However, the discussion did not include the parking spaces behind the community center. All workgroup members voiced their support to recommend the COA board to look into this program. The next step is to further explore the number of senior-only parking spaces and their locations. Transportation Advocacy: Extend free Lexpress hours for seniors Sudhir Jain provided some statistics about LexPress's revenue. In a "normal" year, ExpLess overall fares were about $60K. However, due to the pandemic, average fares from senior rides were around $150 per month based on the data from July 2021-Sep 2021. Julie commented that Susan Barrett would like to see a financial partner to cover the loss of revenue if the town extends the senior free hours. The workgroup decided to continue this discussion in next month's workgroup meeting to have 1) come up with an estimate for the funding needs 2) research whether any neighboring towns have a similar program Housing Advocacy: Home modification assistance Ellen Cameron and Betty Borghesani updated that there will be a short survey on home modification needs in March/April Sage. The workgroup will discuss this topic once we have the survey result in April. The meeting adjourned at 3:34pm
