The Appropriations Committee met Saturday morning, March 3, 1962
at 9:45 A. M. with the Board of Selectmen and the Standing School
Building Committee at the request of the Board of Selectmen.
Present: J. Harper Blaisdell, Chairman
C. Roland Christensen John R. Bevan
Maurice F. Shaughnessy Frank E. Douglas
Logan Clarke Jr-. Richard H. Battin
Raymond L. White, Temp. Sec.
Austin W. Fisher, Chairman of the Standing School Building Committee
rte; presented Plan A and Plan B of the new secondary school buildings and
went over the changes made since the original Plan A was submitted.
New the estimated reduction from the original cost will be over
S $300,000.
Our Committee members looked over both plans, A and B and, in fact,
all our members were in favor of Plan B.
Plan B has parking space for 500 automobiles.
If these plans are approved the the $115,000 is appropriated at the
Annual Town Meeting for final plans and specifications then the
consideration of bond issue for approximately $3,600,000 for new
additions and alterations would not be necessary until the next
fall Special Twwn Meeting.
The Meeting adjourned at ll"20 A. N.
