Harper Blaisdell, Chairman Raymond L. White, Temp. Sec. Frank E. Douglas Alfred Viano Richard H. Battin Maurice F. Shaughnessy C. Roland Christensen telephone and said he would not be able to be at the meeting • . Mr. Blaisdell read a letter received from the Board of Assessors relative .�; to the new assessed valuation to be added as of January 1, 1962. Their estimate is $3,000,000. A previous letter from the Board of Assessors, dated May 3 , 1961, stated the assessed value was then 578,068,220.00 and the $3,000,000. added would make the present assessed valuation $$1,06$,220.00. A letter submitted to the Board of Selectmen from the Town Accountant and delivered in person by Mr. Frederick Staples, Executive Administrator, requesting a transfer from the Reserve Fund to the Accounting Department- Personal Services, in the amount of $1,576.$3 and Accounting Department- Expenses in the amount of S125.35. It was voted to transfer $1,702.1$ from the Reserve Fund to Accounting Department, Personal Services and Expenses. A letter from the Board of Selectmen requesting a transfer of $1,600.57 from the Reserve Fund to the Police Pension Account, due to the retirement of Officers John A. Russell and Edward J. Lennon and not sufficient funds — in the Police Pension Account to take care of December 31, 1961 payments. It was voted to transfer $1,600.57 from the Reserve Fund to Police Pension Account. The Board of Selectmen sent a note requesting a transfer from the Reserve Fund to Town Offices - Cary Memorial Building Expenses in the amount of $1,500.00 for boiler repairs. This Committee did not vote on this item until they receive more details on this expenditure. The Board of Health Committee were admitted to this meeting at $:20 P. M. Present were Rufus L. McQuillan, Chairman, Dr. William L. Cosgrove and J. West. The first budget considered was the Health Department Personal Services. It was stated that the Health Officer is doing a real good job and that he in fact is underpaid. He graduated from Northeastern University in August 1961 and received a Masters degree in Public Health Administration. T! clerk, mentioned in this budget, the Committee is asking for a substantial increase due to her ability and length of service. Mr. West stated that Whitman-Howard are called in on some of the cases. The Health Department-Expense budget was gone over and it was decided they would submit a new budget leaving out Out of State Travel in the amount of $150.00 but leave in Public Health Education for $150.00. Also submit an additional budget for Out of State Travel in the amount of $150.00. u Health Department-Engineering budget for 42,500.00. This budget is used to pay Whitman-Howard when they are called in on certain cases or conditions. Dr. Benton is the doctor who inspects the animals. The Health-Animal Inspection and Health Rabies Clinic Budget were discussed briefly. The Dental Clinic budgets were discussed briefly and an error in same was brought to our attention as one dentist re^c4,rcr1 325 .00 and the other dentist receives 820.00 a day. A correct budget is to be submitted. Also the Dental Clinic budget has a good portion of their appropriation unspent, the reason being that for awhile they were not able to practive due to no room in the school, but recently they have moved to the Franklin School. The Posture Clinic, Personal Service and Expenses budget were gone over. The Board of Health Committee left our meeting at 9:45 P. M. Mr. Blaisdell then read a letter that the Board of Selectmen had recived from the Fire 6ommissioners in which they showed they would need 32,500.00 in additional funds to meet their obligations for the balance of the year. It was voted to transfer 32,500.00 from the Reserve Fund to the Fire Department-Personal Services. There was a general discussion and the meeting adjourned at 10:20 P. M.
