HomeMy WebLinkAbout1954-12-13-AC-MIN.pdf 158 A meeting- of the Appropriation Committee was held in the Con- ference Room, Cary Memorial Building on December 13, 1954 with the following members pi ent: John Biggs Thomas Donnelly Jr. _ James MacDonald Robert Cave William Madden Frank D. Walker, Sec. All other members called saying they would not be able to attend. Gardner came into meeting at 10:20. Jim started meeting in proper frame of mind. Discussed car allowance. (see enclosure) Discussed Library and voted on items remaining in budget. Appro- priation Committee desires to go on record as against appropria- ting monies for specific major capital items and having depart- ments disregard their wishes when they feel they are well qualified to judge the merits of the item. (example - burner and tank at Library. ) Tom Donnelly discussed the questioned items in the Fire Department budget. Left two items in expenses to discuss with Commissioners. Report on income on Board of Appeals read and voted to approve their budget. James MacDonald and committee discussed Police budget. Voted to authorize two additional sergeants making total three and three new patrolmen. Defer the Inspectors until sub committee has more facts. Discussed new additional cruiser. No action, which will be necessary in order to evaluate the remaining budget for expenses. Meeting adjourned at 10:45. Next meeting December 20, 195+ @ 7:30 P.M.
