Letter from Board of Selectmen read requesting transfers for
Collector's Office.
"Voted to transfer from the Reserve Fund to Collector' s Personal
Services, 8500.00 - Collectors Expenses 8325.00.
and to advise the Board of Selectmen as follows :
"The Appropriation Committee was surprised at your failure
to comment as to your reasons for complete reversal of
your stand regarding the need for extra help in the Tax
Collector's Office, and on the problems described in the
report. We presume this situation is receiving your attention. "
Bill was presented by the Secretary showing the necessity for transfer
of 0%34.20 to the 19th of April expenses.
"Voted that when official request for transfer is received from Select-
men, that the transfer will be authorized. "
Meeting officially closed at 9 :20 F.M.
Selectmen Haskell Reed, WilliamMaloney and Frederick Gay were invited
to attend an unofficial discussion of preparation of the budgets in
getting out the annual report of the Appropriation Committee. It was
tentatively decided that our report must be in the hands of the public
by March 1, 1955, and that with the cooperation of the Board of Select-
men and our Committee, it may be possible to accomplish our task.
Meeting adjourned at 9 :50 P.M.

At a, telephone meeting of the Appropriation Committee held on this
date, the following members were contacted:
Gardner Ferguson, Chairman
Leslie Read
Austin Fisher Jr.
Thomas Donnelly
Donald Clark
James MacDonald
Frank D. Walker, Sec.
All voted in favor of transferring the amount of 535.47 from the
Reserve Fund to the Dog Clinic Account.
