A meeting of the Appropriation Committee was held in the
Conference Room in Cary Memorial Building at 7:30 P . M. on December
21, 1953, with the following members in attendance:
Raymond W. James, Chairman
Leslie C . Read Thomas J. Donnelly, Jr. ,
Gardner C. Ferguson William Malden
Donald T. Clark Austin W. Fisher, Jr. ,
Robert R. Cave John Biggs
Frank D. Walker, Secretary

T". The meeting was called to order at 7:30 P . M.
The minutes of the meeting held on Decemier 14, 1953 were accented.
A letter received from Harold Stevens, Town Counsel, was read
giving us an official interpretation of our recommendations on
articles in any warrant. Discussion followed.
It was voted to advise Mr. Rowse as follows, confirming same
by letter:
"Mr. A. Edward Rowse - December 22, 1953
38 Somerset Rd. ,
Lexington 73, Mass.
Dear Mr. Rowse:
At a meeting of the Appropriation Committee held
December 21; 1953, it was voted to report to the
Committee of one hundred that it did not care to
change. its position on Article 3 of the Special
Town Meeting on November 30, 1953. In its report
to that Town Meeting the Appropriation Committee
reported as follows :
The Appropriation Committee makes no recommendation."
