A meeting of the Aprropriation Committee was held in the
Conference Room in Cary Memorial Building at 7:30 P. M. on Decem-
ber 14, 1953, with the following members in attendance :
Gardner C. Ferguson, Vice-Chairman
Leslie C. Read Thomas J. Donnelly, Jr. ,
Donald T. Clark William Madden
John M. Biggs
Frank D. :Talker, Secretary
The meeting was called to order at 7:50 P . M.
The minutes of the meeting held on December 7, 1953 were read
and accented.
Letter From Ralph E. Chadwick was read.
Harold Stevens, Town Counsel, dropped in and stated that the
Appropriation Committee need not make any change in their policy
reference to no recommendations on articles not concerning the
appropriation of funds unless in their judgment it should do so.
Asked to rule on the voting power of the Town Accountant and stated
he has a vote.
Discussion followed on School Department budget, taking each
item and asking questions . Les and Don will give a complete report
on the School Committee budget after January 1st.
Next meeting will be held Monday evening, December 21st at
7:30 P. M.
Meeting adjourned at 10:30 P . M .
