M. on Decemoer 7, 1953 with the following members in attendance: Raymond W. James, Chairman Leslie C . Read Thomas J. Donnelly Jr. , William Madden Gardner C. Ferguson Donald T. Clark Austin W. Fisher, Jr., John M. Biggs Frank D. Walker, Secretary +w J Meeting was called to order at 7:30 by Chairman Raymond W. James . Letter from Board of Selectmen was read requesting transfer of 0;40000 from the Reserve Fund to Welfare - Aid & " xpens es . It was voted to transfer 54,000 from the Reserve Fund to Welfare- Aid & Expenses Account . Discussion followed relative to public hearings. It was voted to forego public hearings for 1953 - 1954. Tried out the tape-recorder. Seems to work well . Discussion on whether we should have a member on the Salary Study Committee. It was voted to have a member on this Committee( one opposed) . It was the sense of the meetiro that Bob Cave should be the one to be our representative and relieve him of some of his burdens on budgets which he has now. It was voted to ask the Town Counsel for an official interpretation of the By-Laws Article X111, Section 4, as pertains to "other municipal matters". Voted on some of the Expense Budgets . Discussion on putting all persons now receiving a car allowance on a mileage basis was not voted. Discussion on stopping meetings at 10:30 P . M. unless by unaminous consent to continue was not voted. Next meeting will be held Monday evening December 14, 1953 . Meeting adjourned at 10 :30 P . M. Respectfully submitted, (1:20 CAP•iv Secretary
