A meeting of the Appropriation Committee was held in the
Conference Room in Cary Memorial Building at 7: 30 P. M. on Oct.
5, 1953 with the following members present.
Raymond W . James, Chairman
Leslie C . Read Thomas J . Donnelly, Jr.
Gardner C. Ferguson William Madden
Austin W. Fisher Jr. Donald T. Clark
Drank D. Walker, Secretary
Harold Stevens, Town Counsel was present at 7:00 P. M. to
discuss the Warrant. He stated that to appropriate during the
current year and to raise it in the Levy of the following year
was a legal appropriation. Mr. Stevens left at 7:30 P. M.
It was voted to reconsider the action of Article 5.
It was voted to approve the motion to be made by the Select-
men to transfer the entire $60,000 from Excess and Deficiency.
Discussed Street Lights ( Article 7) . No change in position.
Discussed Maple Street School (Article 11) . No change -
voted to offer an amendment.
Discussed Article 13, but no motion made.
Adjourned at 8:00 P . M. to Town Meeting.

The next meeting of the Appropriation Committee will be in the
Conference room on October 19, 1953 at 7:30 P . M.
The Fall Meeting of the Finance Association will be held at
the Hotel Shelton on Wednesday evening, October 14, at 6:30.
