December 23, 1952
A meeting of the Appropriations Committee was held in the office
of the Town Accountant at 7:30 Monday evening, December 22, 1952 with
the folleming members in attendance:
Leon W. Bateman, Chairman
Raymond W. James Ralph H. Tucker
Leslie C . Read James V. Macdonald
Gardner C. Ferguson
Frank D. Walker, Secretary
The minutes of the meeting held December 15, 1952 were presented
and approved.
The following requests for transfers from the Reserve Fund were
voted:
Fire - Expenses 400.00
Interest 18.55
Elections-Town Clerk 110.00
Water Const. 16" & over 6,100.00( when letter
is received from Selectmen with information regarding
action on borrowing of 40,000. Water Construction 16"
& over. )
The Board of Public Welfare came in at 7: .5 to discuss their
budget requests for 1953. Left at 8 :30.
The Board of Health came in at 8 :30 to discuss their budget re-
quests for 1953. Left at 9 :30.
Chief Rycroft of the Police Department came in at 9 :30 to dis-
cuss his 1953 budget requests. Left at 10 o' clock.
It was requested that a letter be written to Harold E. Stevens,
Town Counsel, to receive his views, under the provisions of Sect'on
16, Chapter 39 of the General Laws, also the Town By-Laws, in rela-
tion to presentingthe budgets to Town Meeting.
The next meeting will be held January 5, 1953 with the follow-
ing agenda:
Miss Thompson 7: .5
Recreation Committee 8:15
Assessors 8:45
Fire Commissioners 9 :15
Public Works 9 :4.5
The meeting adjourned at 10 :35 P. M.
