November 4, 1952
A meeting of the Appropriation Committee was held in the office
of the Town Accountant Monday evening, November 3, 1952 with the
following members in attendance:
Leon W. Bateman, Chairman
Raymond W. James Ralph H. Tucker
A. W. Cleveland Thomas J . Donnelly, Jr.
James V. MacDonald Leslie C . Read
Ethel U. Rich, Secretary
The meeting was called to order at 7:30 by Chairman Leon W. Bateman.
The minutes of the meeting held October iLk, 1952 were presented
and approved.
It was voted to transfer the following from the Reserve Fund:
Public Welfare - Aid & Expenses $2,500.00
Building & Plumbing P. S . 300.00
The School Committee, represented by Mrs . Ruth Morey, Charles
Norris and Supt. of School, John B. Smith, came in at-8 o' clock. A
general discussion of the request for the supplementary appropriation
of $160,000 for the construction and original equipping of the new
High School, site improvement, drainage, etc . followed. This Committee
left at 9 o' clock.
Alan Adams, representing the Planning Board, entered at 9 o' clock
with maps and views on the vote to amend the Zoning-By-Law to change
certain land from an R1 district to a C2 district. Left at 9 :30.
The Warrant for Town Meeting, November 17, 1952 was studied and
recommendations made on same.
The meeting adjourned at 9 :45.
