A meeting of the Appropriation Committee was held in the
office of the Town Accountant Monday evening, December 17, 1951,
with the following members in attendance:
Leon W. Bateman, Chairman
Clarence E. Smith Ralph A. Tucker
Leslie E. Read Howard A. Patterson
John J. Sullivan Thomas J. Donnelly, Jr.
Ethel U. Rich, Secretary
The meeting was called to order at 7: 30 by Chairman
Leon W. Bateman.
The minutes of the meeting held on December 10, 1951
were presented and approved.
It was voted to place the following statement in the records
of the minutes andto so notify the Selectmen:
"That, without further facts and considerations
the Appropriation Committee does not believe
it wise to commit itself at this time either
for or against the suggested wages and hours
program proposed by the Board of Selectmen. "
It was voted to rescind the vote of December 3, 1951 for
A1155.00 Building & Plumbing - Expenses, and the following vote
was made: Building & Plumbing - Expenses ? 1175.00. A letter
will be sent to Mr. Lindstrom advising him of the increase to
his expense budget.
The Board of Health, consisting of William Cosgrove, Roy
McQuillan and Richard Jackson, came in at 8:10 to discuss
their 1952 budget. Left at 8 :50.
Mr. Burns came in at 9 : 30 to review further budgets under
his jurisdiction. Mr. Burns explained to the Committee his re-
quest for a transfer from the Reserve Fund to Insurance. Left
at 10:30.
It was voted to transfer 8200 from Reserve Fund to Insurance.
The meeting adjourned at 10:55 P. M.
The next meeting will be held foliowi.n the holidays on
January 7, 1952 at 7: 30, with the following agenda:
8:00 Mr. Garrity
8:15 Cemetery Commissioners
9 :00 Police
