Bateman, Chairman Howard A. Patterson A. W. Cleveland Leslie C. Read Raymond. W. James The meeting was called primarily for consultation with reference to the special Town Meeting scheduled for Monday evening, June 25, 1951. The following letters were received. June 18, 1951 "Mr. Leon W. Bateman Chairmen, Appropriation Committee Lexington 73, Massachusetts Dear Mr. Bateman: The Board of Selectmen respectfully requests a transfer of .35 from the Reserve Fund to the Dog Clinic - Expenses Account. The shortage in this budget is explained bi- the following comparison of costs between 1950 and 1951. 1950 1951 Cards $25.00 332.00 Advertising 1. 71 1.84 Alcohol, needles syringes 21.17 43.02 Vaccine, towels173.10 182. 35 $220.98 $259 .21 220.98 39 .23 Respectfully yours , Donald E. Mr. Bateman: Please be advised that the Board of Selectmen has voted to re- quest a transfer of $500 from the Reserve Fund to the Collector 4-4 of Taxes - Expenses Account. d :2 The Board has been informed by the Collector that the additional r4 funds are necessary due to the fact that the Collector' s bond for 1951 was x$100 higher than anticipated. Furthermore, an increase in the number of personal and excise tax bills has doubled the cost for postage and makes it necessary to purchase more envelopes. Respectfully yours, Donald E.
