MINUTES OF THE MEETING OP THE
APPROPRIATION COMMITTEE 9ELD ON
August 1 ., 1R50 at 7:30 P.M.
A meeting of the Appropriation Committee was held in the
office of the Town Accountant on Monday evening, August 14, 1950
at 7:30 P.M. with the following members in attendance :
Howard A. Patterson, Chairman
William M. Hall Clarence E. Smith
Ralph H. Tucker A. W. Cleveland
Leon W. Bateman Thomas J . Donnelly Jr.
John J. Sullivan Raymond W. James
Frank D. Walker, Secretary
Letters from Selectmen read requestion transfers.
Committee adjourned to Barnes Property at 7:50 to look over
the situation. Joined by Selectmen. Returned to Town Accountant ' s
office at 8:10 and had a joint discussion with the Selectmen with
reference to the Barnes Property. Selectmen left at 9 :20.
The following votes were taken:
To transfer 31,500. to Barnes Property for the needed
extra repairs with the suggestion that the Selectmen
leave the garage on but eliminate the cow shed.
To transfer X500. to Barnes Property for the rehabilitation
of a minimum of three rooms for the us e of the Draft Board
and the Civilian Defense.
To transfer $1, 800. to Cary Memorial Building for the extra
money needed for the boiler.
To send a letter to Mr. Potter asking him what decision had
been reached relative to the transfer of the Cemetery
records to the Town Offices .
The meeting adjourned at 10 :10 P.M.
