Patterpon, Chairman in the Town Accountant' s Office with the following members in attendance: William M. Hall Emile J. Vadeboncoeur Clarence E. Smith Tom J. Donnelly, Jr. , Ralph H. Tucker A. W. Clevelaa d Robert W. Fawcett Frank D. Walker, Secretary Letters requesting transfers from several departments were read and it was voted to make the following transfers from Reserve: Dog Officer - Expenses 37.00 Collectors - Expenses 65.00 Building & Plumbing - Expenses 16.25 Police - Expenses 657.92 Road Machinery 500.00 It was voted that if requested by the Selectmen before December 31, 1949a transfer of 0500. be made to Long Range Planning Committees It was voted that the Chairman call a special meeting if necessary on December 31, 1949. The following letter was read: "Appropriation Committee December 16, 1949 Town Office Building Lexington 73, Massachusetts Att: Mr. Howqrd A. Patterson, Chairman Gentlemen: We have in hand yours of December 13th and acknowledge the following: 1. Several bills for copper pipe. 2. Excerp from Massachusetts General Laws. 3. Your comments on the proper expenditure of monies transferred from the Reserve Fund. 4. Your ideas with reference to continued "acceleratedspending" prior to and in- • volving transfers. Life sure gets rugged in late December, doesn't it? The Board of Selectmen wishes to extend to all the members of the Appropriation Committee very best wishes for a Merry Christmas. Very truly yours, GEORGE/S Chairman, Selectmen" 30 The Recreation Committee came in at 8:10 P. I. to discuss their budget and left at 9:20 P.M. The Planning Board came in at 9:25 to discuss their budget and left at 10:10 P.M. The Board of Selectmen were called with reference to Long Range Planning Committee. The Chairman of Board of Selectmen asked that the Chairman of the Appropriation Committee meet with them. Chairman Patterson met with Board of Selectmen, returned and rendered his report. The meeting adjourned at 11:05 P. M.
