APPROPRIATION COMMITTEE
DATE: January 8 , 1973
TIME: 7:30 P.M.

OBSERVER: Cheryl Waixel, Lexington Minute-Man
DISCUSSION - BUDGET
a. New budget books including expense budgets
(not personal services) were given to each
Committee member for review. The Chairman
stated that he felt the increases were entirely
out of proportion. "It is up 10% and in some
instances 12 to 13%" . Some increases in regard
to pension and insurance may have to remain as
such and be absorbed in other areas. The Board
of Selectmen were in review of the Police, Fire,
Department of Public Works and Library budgets. `�
It is expected that the Town Manager will have
all expense budgets before the Committee by
January 15th.
b. The Chairman mentioned that at the request of
the Town Manager, the telephone company has been
asked to review the Town's installations, hopefully
a reduction in cost will be in line.
Upon motions duly made and seconded, EXECUTIVE SESSION was VOTED
at 8 :05 P.M.
EXECUTIVE SESSION adjourned at 8:26 P.M.
Meeting adjourned at 8:40 P.M.
The next meeting is scheduled for Monday, January 15, 1973 at
7 :30 P.M.
