I . CORRESPONDENCE
a. Received letter from Mr. Scott and Mrs. Vohl concerning
the subject of learning disabilities reimbursements from
the Commonwealth. The Chairman has asked Mr. Perry to
look further into the validity of this situation and after
all the facts are presented to the Committee , acknowledge-
ment of this letter will be made . (Copy given to each
Committee member)
b. The Chairman acknowledged receipt of a letter from
Robert C. Hilton, Director, Cary Memorial Library, regarding
budget items which were proposed by the Library Trustees for
1973. (Copy attached)
c . The Chairman received a letter from Mr. Frank I . Michelman,
Chairman, LCSR , regarding a draft for an article which the
Lexington Commission on Suburban Responsibility would wish
to have included in the warrant for the 1973 Town Meeting.
This request was for $2,500 to be used by the Permanent
Building Committee in carrying out arrangements for recruit-
ment or training of members of minority groups protected by
the fair employment laws of the Commonwealth, or in compensat-
ing contractors for costs incurred by them in connection with
the renovation and expansion of the Cary Memorial Library or
with the addition to the Central Fire Station.
II . DISCUSSION
a. It was agreed by the Committee that the Chairman would
speak with the Board of Selectmen regarding the timely
submitting of budget material.

b. It was agreed that the following members of the Committee
will specialize in the following areas for budget analysis
and reviews

c. Revenue Sharing was discussed in a brief manner by the
Committee . The Chairman stated that it would not be a
"miraculous cure-all" for Lexington and that it is not
going to solve the problems of the Lexington taxpayer,
however, it will help to stabilize the tax rate. It was
stated that the prime objective of the Committee is to
hold the tax rate at it's present $65.00.
The meeting was adjourned at 8135 P.M.
The next meeting is scheduled for Monday, January 8, 1973 at
7130 P.M.
