The Appropriation Committee held a meeting at 7230 P.M. , Monday
night, December 4, 1972, in Room 111, Town Office Building,
Lexington.
Present were : Edward E. Furash, Chairman, Jack L. Mitchell,
Vice Chairman, Elizabeth M. Flynn, Secretary, Arthur T. Bernier,
J. Blaisdell, Howard L. Levingston, H. Bigelow Moore and
Richard M. Perry, Comptroller.
Mrs. Carol Caro, of the LWV observed.
RESERVE FUND BALANCE: $63,093.31
Upon motion duly made and seconded, it was VOTED to submit
,--r budget asroposed except for change in line 307 - $2,000 to
c`...a $2,200 -- $2,100 to 2,310, Total: 6,725 . This covers printing
LV costs of two reports for an 18 month budget.
Chairman Furash reported on the status of the Buckman Tavern
construction. He stated that the Historical Society has paid for
all costs to date - $7,000 and that construction has been completed.
Request was made for Article in the Warrant for the 1973 Town Meeting.
RESERVE FUND TRANSFERS :
Acct. #5500 Snow Removal $8 ,000. Extraordinary and
unforseen exp.
Acct. #2460 Conservation $ 400. Secretarial Serv. -
Com. Exp. Hatch Act Hearings
Upon motions duly made and seconded, it was VOTED
to transfer the amounts requested.
The Committee will inform Town Manager O'Connell through Comptroller,
Richard Perry, to take such items as Sanding Spreaders and put theme
under a "Road Machinery Article" .
Meeting was recessed to attend School Budget meeting at 8 :25 P.M. 1111
and reconvened in Room 111 at 9:05 P.M.
Dr. Howard Kassler, Chairman Conservation Commission joined the i
meeting to discuss his request for an additional $200.00. This w ""
for Mr. Alex Ztleski (Former Town Planning Dir. ) , a Profeional
Consultant. This matter is still under discussion.
The next meeting night is scheduled for 7:30 P.M. , December 11, 1972.
The Capital Expenditures Committee will meet with Appropriations 14001
Committee on this night.
The meeting was adjourned at 9: 25 P.M.
