HomeMy WebLinkAbout1972-11-27-AC-MIN.pdf 4 The Appropriation Committee held a meeting, at 7:30 P.M., OR Mon- day, November 27, 1972, ix room lll, Town Office Building, Lexington . Present were Edward E. Furash, Chairman, Jack L. Mitchell, Vice Chairman, Elizabeth M. Flynn, Secretary, J. H . Blaisdell, Howard L. Levingston, Donald B . White and Richard M. Perry, Comptroller. Mrs . Feakes of the League of Women Voters observed the meeting. Chairman Furash read a letter from Town Counsel N . Cohen with respect to advise from the legal firm of Palmer and Dodge that Appropriation member H. Bigelow Moore may continue to serve on the Committee under the proviso that he not take part ix votes on matters pertaining to the Minuteman Regional Vocational District . Mr. Moore is associated 1-1 with the MM Vocational High School. Mr. Moore abstained from any discussion on this matter. The Chairman, also, advised that the Selectmen will close the Warrant on December 29, 1972, aad that Town Meeting will start on March 19, 1973 . Robert Kingston of the Capital Expenditures Committee joined the meeting. Discussion was held on Revenue Sharing . He questioned putting Lexington' s share into the Capital budget. Chairman Furash replied in the negative . The two Committees will meet ix the future to discuss this . RFSURVF FUND BALANCE: $65,585. RESERVE FUND TRANSFERS: Acct. #2935 Comp.-Copier Supplies 800. Acct . #5700 Sewer Maintenance 1,691.69 Upon motions duly made and seconded, it was VOTED to transfer the amounts requested. A Conservation Commission request for a transfer of $600. for secretarial services will be discussed with their Chairman Kassler before a Vote is taken . DPW Director J. McSweeney joined the meeting at 8:15 P .M. His re- quest for a RF transfer of $ .,100. for snow removal sanding equip- ment will be referred back to the Town Manager. Vice Chairman Mitchell commented that the School Committee budget had not been received and that a meeting should be held with the School Committee . Discussion was held as to the merit of publishing all School Depart- ment salaries and all Town salaries . They were reviewed, and it was decided that Secretary Elizabeth Flynn will interview Mrs. Mary O1Bries during the next week. The next meeting is scheduled for December L1., 1972.
