The Appropriation Committee reconvened the recessed meeting of
December 20, 1971, at 7:30 P.M. , on Monday, January 3, 1972, in Room
111, Town Office Building, Lexington. Present were Edward E. Furash,
Chairman, Jack L. Mitchell, Vice Chairman, Elizabeth M. Flynn , Sec-
retary, J. H. Blaisdell, Levi G. Burnell, Howard L. Levingston,
Donald B . White and Richard M. Perry, Comptroller.
The Chairman, by poll, received unanimous approval for the following
TRANSFERS:
1. Acct . #2460 - Conserv. Exp. $ 200. Secy. Servs . to complete
4.,,4 State and Fedi, applies .

Upon motion duly made and seconded, it was VOTED to adjourn the
recessed meeting.
At 7:45 P.M., the meeting, scheduled for this night, came to order.
Attending the meeting were Mrs. Olsen, LWV observor, Mrs. Suther-
land, a citizen, and Mrs . Byrnes, a Town Meeting member.
The Chairman read to the Committee a letter from Mrs. R. Shedd,
of the Outlook Club, with respect to the Committee participating in
a recycling project at the sanitary land fill . The Chairman will
send a letter to Mrs . Shedd suggesting that she contact the Board of
Selectmen .
The Comptroller reported that possibly $900,000. to $1,000,000.
would be in E & D by Town Meeting . The Comptroller will also pre-
pare a Pro Forma for the next meeting. The Chairman requested, also,
a chart showing total expenses of major departments for the last three
years .
E . Mollo-Christensen, of the Regional Vocational Committee, stated
that their budget request for ' 72 will probably be about $17,000.
Bonding will, probably, not be requested at this Town Meeting.
A preliminary examination of submitted budgets was made .
The Chairman will send a letter of invitation to the School Com-
mittee to meet with us at our next meeting.
The next meeting night is scheduled, at 7:30 P.M., on Monday,
January 10, 1972.
The meeting was adjourned at 9:00 P.M.
