The Appropriation Committee held a meeting at 7:30 P.M., on Monday,
August 16, 1971, in the office of the Comptroller, Estabrook Hall,
Lexington. Present were Edward E. Furash, Chairman, J. Harper
Blaisdell, Levi G. Burnell, Howard L. Levingston, H. Bigelow Moore,
Donald B. White and Richard M. Perry, Comptroller.
Meeting was held, at this time with members of the School Committee.
Present were John Maguire, Chairman, Frederick Frick and Vernon._
Page. Also present was Rudolph J. Fobert, Superintendent of Schools.
Mr. Maguire explained the long negotiating sessions that took place
between the LEA and the School Committee, which was represented by
Mr. Maclnnes and their hired negotiator, Mr. Alan Miller. When a
stalemate was reached, a hired mediator, Mr. Arnold Zack was brought
in. The result was a 2 year contract, which is open at the end of
one year for further salary negotiating.

c The Committee met 'next with Charles Gallagher, Chairman of the Rec-
creation Committee. He explained the need for requested Reserve
Fund Transfers.
RESERVE FUND TRANSFERS:
Acct. #2470 Rec .-P.S. $1,500. For policing the Reservoir
area because of vandalism
Acct. #6000 Park-Exp . 500. For chemicals for the
Reservoir
Upon motions duly made and seconded, it was VOTED to
transfer the amounts requested.
RESERVE FUND BALANCE: $101,677.00
The next meeting night is scheduled for 7:30 P.M., on September 13, 1971.
The meeting was adjourned at 9:15 P.M.

September 20, 1971, in the office of the Comptroller, Estabrook Hall,
Lexington. Present were Edward E. Furash, Chairman, Jack L. Mitchell,
Vice Chairman, Elizabeth M. Flynn, Secretary, J. Harper Blaisdell,
Arthur T . Bernier, Levi G. Burnell, H. Bigelow Moore, Donald B. White
and Richard M. Perry, Comptroller.
The Chairman advised the Committee on Stuart DeBard' s grading of the
Annual Report.
