Present were Edward E. Furash, Chairman, Jack L. -Mitchell, Vice Chairman, Elizabeth M. Flynn, Secretary, Arthur T. Bernier, J. Harper Blaisdell, Howard L. Levingston, Richard M. Perry, Comp- troller and Donald B. White . E. Mollo Christenson joined the meeting and advised the Committee that a Citizens Advisory Committee, made up from all the Towns in- volved, was being formed in the interest of the Minuteman Regional Vocational High School. This would be an ad hoc Committee, under the School Committee, whose primary purpose was communication with major Town Boards . He expressed the wish that a member of Approp- riations would be nominated to serve on this Citizens Committee. Upon motions duly made and seconded, all Articles and Committee recommendations were VOTED* and the Committee Report was prepared and edited for printing. Upon motion duly made and seconded, it was VOTED that "the Approp- riation Committee hereby recommends that all funds to be appropriated at the Special Town Meeting, to be held on June 14, 1971, shall be raised on the tax levy, with the exception of Article #8 whose ap- propriation shall be transferred from the Excess and Deficiency Fund" . Meeting was held with Town Engineer McSweeney with respect to Article #7. He explained, with maps, the purpose for and the areas involved in the conveyance of land to the Arts and Crafts Society. The next meeting night is scheduled at 7:45 P.M. , on Wednesday, June 9; 1971, in the Science Lecture Building at the High School. The meeting was recessed at 9:45 P.M. Furash, Chairman, Jack L. Mit- chell, Vice Chairman, Elizabeth M. Flynn, Secretary, Arthur T. Bernier, J. Harper Blaisdell, Levi G. Burnell, Howard L. Levingston, H. Bigelow Moore, Richard M. Perry, Comptroller and Donald B. White. EXECUTIVE SESSION was held, at this time, with Thomas Taylor of the PBC, with respect to Article #8. Mr. Taylor read a letter from Frank W. Crimp, Architect, with respect to a breakdown of costs for the Minutes of meeting held on June 9, 1971 - page 2 repairs to the roof at Bowman School, as follows: Removal and Disposal $ 35,000. Insulation 15,000. Roof covering 45,000. Roof drain & expansion joint flashing, etc . 10,000. 1105,000. Plus 1064 for plans, specs, bidding and supervision and $500. for reproduction and miscellaneous $$116,000. in Mr. Taylor stated that they are going out for bids now, and that it will be about a month before bids are in. Discussion on Articles: Article #2 The Selectmen would like to present a favorable motion-of 44000000.4120 000. on the tax levy and balance bonded for 4-5 years. Approps. still recommends unfavorable action. Article #8 Bowman School roof-Approps . still recommends- postpone to time certain. Article #9 Repair to High School due to fire-Approps. still recommends-postpone to time certain. Article #11 Amendment to Town Manager Act-upon motion duly made and seconded, it was VOTED to recommend Unfavorable Action. The next meeting night is scheduled at 7:15 P.M., on Monday, June 14, 1971.
