Members present were Robert M. Gary, Chairman, Edward E. Furash, Vice Chairman, Elizabeth M. Flynn, Secretary, Richard M. Perry, _- Comptroller, J. H. Blaisdell, Levi G. Burnell, Jack L. Mitchell, H. Big- elow Moore, Donald B. White and Louis A. Zehner. The Chairman advised the Committee of letters received: one from the residents of the Cooke Rd., Douglas Rd. and Fulton Rd. area with respect to their petition for sewerage and from Fire Commissioner Fitzgerald with respect to the need for a larger ladder truck, more manpower, more equipment and an :_extended fire alarm system if high rise buildings are permitted within the town. After discussion, it was decided to leave Acct. #3750 - Pclice Personal Services open to discuss With the Selectmen salaries raised from $4.50 to X5.00 per hour for Special Duty and also a proposed raise for the Crossing Guards. Also to be discussed with the Selectmen is Acct. #4950 - DPW Personal Services with respect to the proposed Office Manager raise from S16-F to S20-D. Would a raise to S20-C be adequate? Acct . #5400 - Highway Maintenance item 440-08 - Bituminous Concrete Resufacing - $50,000. requested There is a carry over of $40,000. Should the 1970 request be cut to $10,000. Upon motion duly made and seconded it was NOTED by majority to suggest a budget of $10,000. for this Item 111r1.11.42:7:12 - Concrete Sidewalks - L2.222. requested It was decided to question the Selectmen if this was the year to do this in view of the possible 1.0 approval of the Town Office Building addition and Police Station garage by the annual Town Meeting in March. A meeting with the Board of Selectmen is scheduled at 8:30 A.M., on Saturday, January 17, 1970, in the Board of Selectmen ' s Room. The meeting was adjourned at 12:00 M.
