HomeMy WebLinkAbout1969-12-29-AC-MIN.pdf (441 6 The Appropriations Committee held a meeting at 8:00 P.M., on Monday, December 29, 1969, in the Comptroller' s Office, Town Office Building, Lexington. Members present were Robert M. Gary, Chairman, Edward E. Furash, Vice Chairman, Elizabeth M. Flynn, Secretary, Richard M. Perry, Comptroller, J. H. Blaisdell, Jack L. Mitchell, H. Bigelow Moore, Donald B. White and Louis A. Zenner. Meeting was held with Joseph Burke, Superintendent of Public Works with respect to a requested transfer from the Reserve Fund. Mr. Burke explained that the funds were needed to purchase sand and salt, to pay salaries and plow rentals for the three recent storms . $34,000. is the present bill and another storm would deplete the balance, since 2/3 of all sand and salt has been used. Reserve Fund transfers: Acct. #2400 $200. Town Celebrations Unpaid bills Pres. Bal. $11.71 Acct. #3800 2100. Police Expense Bills to 12/31/69 Acct. #4450 300. Inspec . Dept. Sub. Wire Inspector Mess Bal. $637.42 Acct. #5500 27,000. Snow Removal Reserve Fund Balance 37-37-T2777767------ $37,163 .50 Upon motions duly made and seconded, it was VOTED to transfer the above requested funds. The Chairman reported on a letter received concerning the setting up of a telephone Legislature alarm system for town and city Finance Committees. V.C . Furash was nominated to serve as representative to the Committee. The Chairman also reported on a letter received from the School Com- mittee with reference to a study of bussing. It was decided that the study and determinations more properly belong with the School Committee than with Appropriations. The next meeting night is scheduled at 7:45 P.M., on Monday, Janu- ary 5, 1970, in the Comptroller's Office to discuss the following budgets : Civil Defense, Fire Department and Police Department.
