The Appropriations Committee held a meeting on Monday, June 2, 1969,
at 7:30 P.M., in the Conference Room, Cary Memorial Hall, Lexington.
Members present were Robert M. Gary, Chairman, J. Harper Blaisdell,
Levi G. Burnell, Edward E. Furash, Jack L. Mitchell, H. Bigelow Moore,
Richard M. Perry, Comptroller, Donald B. White, Louis A. Zehner and
Elizabeth M. Flynn, Secretary.
Members signed the Appropriation Committee Report to be submitted to
and filed by the Town Clerk.
The meeting adjourned to the Special Town Meeting at 7:Li.5 P.M.

The Appropriations Committee held a meeting on Monday, June 9, 1969,
at 8:00 P.M., in the Comptroller's Office, Town Office Building,
Lexington. Members present were Robert M. Gary, Chairman, J. Harper
Blaisdell, Levi G. Burnell, Edward E. Furash, Jack L. Mitchell,
Richard M. Perry, Comptroller, Donald B. White, Louis A. Zenner and
Elizabeth M. Flynn, Secretary.
The Chairman advised the Committee that signatures petitioning for a
Referendum on Article 4 (proposed new Junior High School) and Article 9
(Minority Trainee By-Law) , passed by the Special Town Meeting on June 2,
1969, were being validated by the Town Clerk and that a voting date
for the Referendum would be set by the Selectmen, possibly June 25, 1969.
The Chairman also advised that the following requests for Transfer from
the Reserve Fund had been received:
1. Account #1950 - $1500. - Town Clerk - expenses for
Referendum voting
2. Account #1900 - $3000. - Selectmen - expenses for
Special Town Meeting Warrant
and Refendum Warrant
Chairman Gary would like a breakdown on these expenses .
Committee member F. Furash presented to the Committee his proposed
memorandum to the Board of Selectmen on the establishment of a Person-
nel Board. Detailed discussion was held on the Memorandum and upon
motion duly made and seconded, it was unanimously VOTED that the Memo-
randum be submitted to the Selectmen. Copies will be sent to the
Chairman of the Executive Board of the Town Meeting Members Association
and to the Chairman of the School Committee .

Minutes of meeting held on June 9, 1969 - continued
After discussion on the Junior High School Referendum, upon motion
duly made and seconded, by majority it was VOTED that the Chairman
is authorized to send a letter to the newspaper, the Minute Man,
reconfirming the Appropriation Committee 's recommendation that the
Junior High School should be built at this time .
The next meeting night is scheduled for June 16, 1969, at 8:00 P.M.,
in the Comptroller' s Office, Town Office Building . The meeting will
adjourn to the Selectmen's Room to meet with the Selectmen with
reference to the establishment of a Personnel Board.
The meeting was adjourned at 9:45 P.M.
